Introduction

Green beans are a minor vegetable in Costa Rica. They are sometimes steamed as a side dish or used as ingredients in traditional dishses such as picadillo.

Seed Sources

Both bush and vining types are grown in Costa Rica. Popular varieties among bush types are “Extender”, “Tendergreen”, “Contender”, and “Guaria”. Among vining types, popular varieties are “Blue Lake” and “Kentucky Wonder”.
